Slowing down

Today, my first day on my own, was much slower than the past nine. I had a quiet morning in my B&B, waiting for the weather to warm up a little and my body to rest from a mild case of the runs over the past couple of the days. At 11:00, I set out to revisit this lovely village that I first saw three years ago.
Sunday Market in Ajijic
In the main square of the town, there was a market today, something larger than usual. I enjoyed looking at the wares on display, but I have decided to wait until market day Wednesday to see what is on sale before I purchase from street vendors. I am trying to restrain myself.
Ritchie 88

I met Catherine and John for lunch at Ritchie 88, where I had a delicious turkey sandwich. From there, Catherine and I headed to friends, Avril and Bob's, rental home in a gated community in the north end of the city where we did laundry for much of the afternoon. I was content to have a slow afternoon while I read my book in the sun.

Leftover soup and chicken
After a dinner of delicious leftovers at Catherine and John's, a bunch of us (Catherine, Avril, Bob and I) went to El Piano Rojo for the evening's entertainment. This was, by far, the highlight of the day!! The show was terrific. The headliner was Jorge Acosta, a Mexican Frank Sinatra. Early in his first set, he invited me to join him on stage where he danced with me and I joined him in singing "I Can't Help Falling in Love with You". I loved every minute of it!

Singing with Jorge
Later in the show, Jorge brought out a beautiful soprano, Beata, who sang both classical and popular numbers. They also sang a couple of duets, including, "Time to Say Goodbye".

Now I am at the end of the day. I find myself missing the dark chocolate that Sue gave me every night. However, Donna and Barbara, my fellow guests have just offered me some. I am a lucky girl!
