Anniversary Day

Today marks the third anniversary of Catherine and John's beautiful wedding in Ajijic, the reason I came here in the first place, and the reason I am back here again (because I would not have returned if I hadn't enjoyed the place so much in 2010.)
Flowers on the golf course

This morning, Catherine picked me up at 10:00 to take me to Chula Vista for 18 holes of golf. The golf course is on kikuyu grass which is nothing like the grass I am used to. It is also very hilly, and the women's tees are not flat. I played with borrowed golf clubs, and my feet hurt in my running shoes. It was the first time I had played since November 11. Those are my excuses and I am sticking to them, because I was abominable!! On the second nine, I decided to photograph the flowers in order to take my mind off my golf.
Eduardo and me

Golfing here requires the hiring of a caddy. Catherine suggested I use an "A" caddy, Eduardo. She settled for a caddy-in-training, Jordy. Really, Eduardo was a great help. Without him, I would not have had any success at all, but eventually, I parred two holes - enough to bring me back on Wednesday

After our round, John met us and we headed to Angelina's Bistro for lunch. In honour of their special day, I treated them. We took a scenic drive through the Las Floresta neighbourhood and then I made myself scarce so that they could spend their anniversary together. Back in town, I strolled around for a few minutes but when the bank machine rejected my card (again!), I realized that I had better not purchase anything in this cash based society until I had more money in my pocket.

Instead, I came back to Estrelitta's to have a little nap and to finish my novel. For dinner, I went to a Thai place around the corner. There I was invited to join Ann, Sue and Brian, three fellow Canadians who have been coming here for almost 20 years.

This was another quiet day. Tomorrow, after I find a bank machine with money, I will go shopping.
